Santa Lolla

⊆ May 11th, 2010 by Dan | ˜ No Comments »

Website of the A/W Collection of Brazilian label of Santa Lolla. Slick animation provides the basis of this site, fast smooth transitions reveal the collection. Using a slideshow function you can sit back and watch, moving the mouse around scrolls the image, a little ‘sand timer’ displaying when the next image will appear is a touch. The thumbnail menu also works really nicely along with the main image, you scroll by mving your mouse up and down. Lots of attention to detail and cool transitions, nicely polished.

Forum

⊆ April 29th, 2010 by Dan | ˜ No Comments »

Website promoting ‘Forum’ a Brazilian fashion label. Cool interface, very nicely laid out with typography, 3d objects, video and photography. Coupled with slick and smooth animation and loads of nice touches, in particular I like the mechanism used to show off their products a very cool interactive slideshow. Also really like the intro withe the 3d wireframes overlaid with video – Very nice…

KIRSTEN BECKEN

Portfolio of Kirsten Becken, fashion photographer and graphic designer. Pretty interesting interface – providing a mood board of several shots/images for each project which pans around by mouse movement, clicking zooms in and double clicking allows you to click and drag your viewpoint. I like the movement, the overview of images, and the fresh take on the standard portfolio. Pretty cool.

UNIQLO – Leggings

⊆ February 25th, 2010 by Dan | ˜ No Comments »

Site promoting Uniqlo’s range of women’s leggings. Another cool uniqlo site – interactive slideshow of leggings beginning with a zoomed in pan then with a video of a model walking in them. Colourful and fun it is also nicely integrated with online shop too, very smart. Love the panning feature, and slideshow, and the video is a nice touch too, cool animation and transitions.

Website of Dutch apparel brand Guy Vernes. Nice and simple slideshow of lifestyle photography twinned with a product section where you can buy what you see. Love the slight movement on the images and the use of icons, the online shop is integrated really well linking to the product you see in the photo. Really nicely developed, slick and fun to use – pretty smart website for a small label.

Cristian Girotto

Portfolio of retoucher Cristian Girotto. Clean and simple, and really well made. WHen you click on a photo it shows the original version, click again to show the retouched version – simple and works really well. Love the zoom function too. It’s really interesting to see the difference between the original and the retouched version, to see the amount of work that went into it. The thumbnail menu at the top also is great. Fantastic portfolio site.

Dreams Factory

Photographers group in China. Very simple, I like the desaturated grid of photos on the homepage – which all change with time, with pretty slick animations in the zoomed in view. Also love the way the backdrop / icons change when the photo is dark/light, pretty cool.

timo weiland

Site of Timo Weiland fashion designer. Nicely designed and a little bit unusual, I like the way it has been laid out, and each time you navigate to a new section everything re-arranges itself. All in all quite a unique and fun experience.

naoki

Site highlighting Naoki’s range of sportswear - ”NAOKI is a unique sportswear collection designed by NAOKI TAKIZAWA, a designer renowned in the Paris fashion world as the decade-long creative director of ISSEY MIYAKE”. A nicely balanced, clean minimal site, with rotating 3d panels showing the range of clothing. Clicking on one shows an overview where you can smoothly zoom in and out. Nicely designed and executed with some really nice animation and interactivity.

lasse pedersen

One of the nicest portfolio sites i’ve seen for a while, this time for hair and makeup artist Lasse Pedersen. Highly polished, using full screen imagery to really convey his work. Love the way you can navigate the images, and clicking the images brings them to fullscreen enabling you to pan around – animates really nicely. Even the rollover effect on the thumbnails is great, you rollover and you can then pan around the image, fantastic attention to detail, great work…

bleed

Website of Norwegian design consultancy Bleed. Pretty cool website, all the things you would expect from a polished agency portfolio – but with a bit more attitude, love all the rollover effects and the clean simple animation style. They showcase their work in a really clean elegant way.

house of orange

House of Orange – Model agency / hair, makeup, and styling agency / photography agency. Nice, simple and effective portfolio of their talent. Really like the way the images build up in different sizes and with a random selection shown each time. Cool transitions with contrast burns and so on.
